This series of stories explores the issues from all perspectives and offers practical insights and recommendations. It captures the discussions held between a unique and expert group of SMEs, NHS leaders and key players from the centre, including NHS England, the Health and Social Care Information Centre and the Office for Life Sciences.
Expert group members related good and bad experiences and we heard about frustrations from all sides – SMEs dismayed at the slow pace of procurement and the slog involved in building business with the NHS, those at the centre working to create a better environment for SMEs to do business with the NHS and NHS organisations who are working with SMEs as well as those struggling to persuade colleagues to take risks with new approaches.
These stories offer practical advice and recommendations for individuals who want change, including:
- Taking the brakes off digitising the NHS
- 10 tips for SMEs who want to work with the NHS
- 7 lessons for a digital health board
- Creating the right environment: messages to the centre
We encourage all parties to use this as a guide when preparing for a meeting with a potential customer or partner. Our aim is to help all sides reach a better commercial relationship quicker, which will expedite the use of health tech across the NHS.
